The year 2017 is coming to a close and we would like to share the most important highlights of this very active year as well as planned activities for 2018 with you.
After the successful second Semmelweis CEE Conference in Budapest (March 7-8), all our efforts are now concentrated on the preparation of our symposium – 200 years Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis on June 21, 2018 in Vienna, that we organize together with the Medical University and the General Hospital in Vienna.
This symposium should honor the life of Prof. Semmelweis and his enormous contribution to modern medicine. We have invited Prof. Didier Pittet (director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety (Geneva) and a great admirer of Ignaz Semmelweis) to come to Vienna and give the keynote lecture.
Besides Prof. Pittet and hospital hygiene experts from the Medical University, we are very happy to welcome the great-great-grandson of Ignaz Semmelweis, Dr. Tivadar Hüttl, who will give a talk about his great-great-grandfather.
We are looking forward to the Semmelweis Birthday Symposium 2018 with great pleasure and hope to see you there!
