Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am very pleased to announce that the 3rd Semmelweis CEE Hygiene Conference will take place on 12 and 13 March 2019 in Vienna. Please save the dates!
The 2019 Conference will be focusing on “Silo Busting – We urgently need more interdisciplinarity in our fragmented healthcare system”.
Too often hospital departments operate side by side but in fact remain isolated from each other. In view of the challenges we are facing in hospital hygiene, we feel obliged to reflect upon how silos can be busted effectively.
Didier Pittet as well as Alexander Friedrich will be honoring us with key note speeches. Additionally, we expect various other international experts who will discuss the course to be set in order to be able to work across silos.
We prepared some videos – Watching this footage may lead to your urge to submit a poster! (Agnes Hajdu had the chance to present her award-winning poster at the ICPIC Conference in Geneva – watch here and be inspired!)
Hopefully you are now already pondering on what your poster will be about.
If you are interested click here for further details. The call for papers is open as of now and will close on 16 January 2019.
Our international jury will select the 10 best submissions, which will be presented by their submitters during our poster session. The remaining selected posters will be displayed and presented at our e-poster terminals throughout the Conference.
Retrospective review
Everybody following the interviews and postings on our website and our social media channels might have noticed, that this year is very important for anyone who deals with topics of the work of Ignaz Semmelweis.
We celebrated the 200th Birthday of Ignaz Semmelweis with a symposium, an unveiling of a much-improved monument and a film about his life and heritage.
To get an impression of what we were up to these past months take a look at this interview with a medical student at the Medical University of Vienna.
“Let us be inspired by this great man” is also our motto for 2019,
Yours sincerly,
Bernhard Küenburg
